Cutting and Fitting CPVC Pipe

Cutting and Fitting CPVC Pipe

Step # 1 Use plastic pipe-cutting sheers to cut CPVC.Be sure to allow for the depth of the fitting hub.

Step #  2 Apply primer to the pipe ends and fitting hubs.Primer removes the surface glaze and reduces leaks.

Step #  3 Test fit the pipe and fittings. Before you disassemble the pipe and cement it,mark the final alignment with a pencil on the fitting.

Step #  4 Apply CPVC solvent cement to the pipe and fitting hub,and insert the pipe about one quarter turn out of alignment.

Step #  5 Rotate the pipe one-quarter turn after inserting it to line up the pencil marks. This spreads the cement and accelerates curing.
